The Workspace integration is the key advantage here. Copilot does similar things inside Microsoft 365, but it costs extra. Gemini in Drive is already there if you're on Workspace.
What are the real limitations you should know about?
Being honest about this matters more than selling you on the feature.
First, Gemini's answers are only as good as your Drive is organized. If your team saves files inconsistently, uses vague names, or keeps critical information in personal drives instead of shared ones, the AI will miss things or surface outdated documents.
Second, this is not a replacement for reading. For anything with legal or financial consequences, a contract review or a financial summary from Gemini should be a starting point, not a final answer. Treat it like a smart intern: useful for first passes, not for signing off.
Third, data privacy matters. Information you ask about goes through Google's systems.
